Brisbane to Cairns
Almost 1 week since I posted my last info on my blog.. wow... time is running!! but actually I'm too!! I saw sooo much stuff this week and I had the best time!!! Brissy was great!!! and Danielle was the best tour guide you could imagine!! While staying with Danielle's family we not only visited Brisbane City but also did some trips with her Aussie-Car.. well.. it took me quite some time to get used to sitting on the driver's side and not having to do anything.. but it was fun.. driving on the left side of the road is still kind of weird to me but I will get used to it. Ok, so we did some great stuff this week. On wednesday we took the ferry over to North Stradbroke Island which is actually calles "Straddie" here. It was beautiful.. I will upload some pics asap but I forgot to bring the cable today.. we went for a walk on the cliffs and then for a swim!! and hei.. I saw my first surfi-boys in action! its quite impressing I have to say! just check out the fotos .. you can't really describe this gorgeous island with words! On Thursday we went to the Brisbane City Center (finally got new hawaianas!! and had a great BBQ at one of Danielle's friends house (Josh and Rachel, and little Nad). I had my first XXXX (say Forex) Beer in a full wettie.. thanx to Josh!! I will never forget that! A wettie (also called Stubby Holder in Western Australia) is a thing that you put around your bottle or can of beer to keep it cool. I'll bring some to Austria.. piggie-tail promise! After that night I already had to say bye to Danielle's Family (for now) and Danielle and me headed up to Noosa and had some little stops in the Queensland Hinterland.. it's beautiful.. I saw the Glasshouse Mountains and read the Aboriginee Story to them. It almost looked a bit like Austria I have to say. Nossa then was great we stayed at the Halse Lodge in the city center of Noosa and had a good time there. Noosa is (as Danielle says) the "Nice - Nizza" of Australia.. it was quite expensive! but very beautiful!! and on the way home we drove down the beautiful Sunshine Coast till Mooloolaba and had a swim and some coffee there before heading to the airport... and that was it!!! I had to say goodbye to Danielle!! soooo sad!!! She drove me to the airport and we said goodbye!! She is such a good girl! Danielle, thanx again for everything!! I had the best time with you and your family!!! Well and I... I took the plane to Cairns!! My individual travel gets started!! I'm staying at a very cool hostel called 'Tropic Days' and I was even picked up from the airport yesterday! They are great and there is sooo much to do here... today I'm just checking out the city and planning the next days.. but I will have to check out the rainforrest and the great barrier reef!! woho... I don't know where to start.. there are just too many offers and tooo many things to do... I will have a chat to the hostel staff afterwards.. they will help me for sure!! Well my friends.. that was it!! There are very nice people staying at the hostel.. I'm sure I will have a great time!! Tomorrow I'm probably going to Kuranda - a town in the rainforrest and be back at the hostel in the evening so I do not miss the Croc BBQ they are offering in the hostel.. ohoh... croc meat... how is that going to taste?!?! I'll find out! Ok then.. all good in oz... more news and pics coming up soon!!! take care everyone and let me know what you are doing???!!
