Arrived in Taupo

so what do you think of my pix??? I think they are great!!! and I'm happy that I finally could upload some of them... hope you enjoy them... we arrived in Taupo about 1 hour ago and already parked the van for the night... in a non-camping parking again.. sorry.... but we really don't have to shower every day.. hihi.. noo.. we had a shower this morning.. just kidding.. tomorrow we are checking out lake Taupo and go then to catch the ferry in Wellington to the South Island.. time is running sooo fast.. that's not fair!!! but still.. we are having a great time... Rotorua was great today!! we went to a "original" Maori village and went to check out a Spa and Hot Pool Area... the whole area around Rotorua and Taupo is volcanic.. and the actual layer of earth is very thin... therefore loads of geysers and hot pools and streams and swamp wholes are around... it looks scary but really cool.. check out the pix!! unfortunately we had no time to dip ourselves into the hot water.. but I hope we have time tomorrow in Taupo!!

So far so good pix

New Zealand North Island

Just arrived in Auckland at the airport and being picked up by Ana Morena was brilliant... I guess that doesn't happen to a lot of people... we then took a cab to Auckland city center and stayed at the YHA Hostel (rather shortly) since we arrived both around 12 o'clock at night... and finally after visiting 2 other hostels.. cause I got mixed up with the names where I had booked... yeah..yeah.. thats me... well.. finally we arrived at the hostel and made our plans for the next days... next morning we picked up our campervan.. it's beautiful!!! I just said to Ana that that's definitly my favourite way of travelling .. I love having bed and kitchen on board... but I really should tell you where we have been so far... we went up north to Bay of Islands and stayed in Paihia for 1 night, went to see Russel the next day and then went on to the west coast of the North Island... we both loved it!! there are huge trees and forrests everywhere.. and not very many people... we also went to see Tane Mahuta.. the largest tree in the world with about 2000 years of age.. it's unbelievable.. it almost scared me, when I suddenly saw it in the middle of the forrest... last night we stayed then in Matake in a lovely caravan park with hot showers and nice bathrooms.. hmmm. .. that was good... and then until now we were heading south and are now in Otorohanga.. the Kiwi Capital of the world.. honestly I have to admit that I have still no idea whether they are talking about the fruit or the bird this time... way to many different kiwi-things in this country... anyhow... we will find out when we go to the museum!!!! after that we will keep on driving to Rotorua and chill in some hot pools!! Can't wait to see the vulcanos.... I would love to upload some fotos but unfortunately that's not possible in here.. so I will do that asap!!! I talked to Kim today on the phone and I'm really looking forward to seeing her in Wanaka!!! I'll see her in about 8 days.. if our tour plan works out.. Ana and me we are a great team and besides the weather which could be definitely better everything's good... today it didn't rain too much but yesterday was very wet!!! hopefully it gets better during the next days!!

Last day in Melbourne

it's my last day in melbourne again.. it's such a pitty!! i really like melbourne!! it's definitely my favourite city in australia so far!! i flew back to melbourne 2 days ago from adelaide and since them I'm staying with Gudi and Peter again!! it's just soo nice to stay in their house.. it's beautiful and I get to sleep in every morning... hmm.. that's like paradise!! yesterday Gudi and I went to a theater play with Gudi's friend Christl.. it was very nice and afterwards we went for a cocktail to a nice bar in the center of Melbourne!! I'm really looking forward to tonight because we are going out with Gudi's bosses Ray and Charly... and what Gudi has told me so far it should be good fun!! well.. and tomorrow afternoon I'm flying to Auckland already... I can't believe how quick time runs by... I'm really looking forward to New Zealand!!! I've only heard good things about it so far.. Ana is coming from Sydney and we are touring around New Zealand for 2 weeks!! that should be a lot of fun.. oh.. have I already mentioned that we are renting a campervan for the 2 weeks??? and it's only 250 Euros for both of us.. it's a really good deal!! I can't wait.. let's get the adventure started!!! alrighty.. my beloved followers of my blog.. I won't be writing too much during the next days but I will keep you updated if I can!! wish us luck and good weather in New Zealand.. it's supposed to be pretty cold already there!!

Barossa Valley and Hahndorf

Wine, beer, weisswurst and german bread... hmmm.. that was a good day!!! but let me explain into detail!! I went on another day trip today!! since I could not go to kangaroo island for longer since all the trips were booked out I had enough time to visit the famous Barossa Valley where most of the famous australian wines come from and Hahndorf which is the first german settlement in Australia!! so I went wine tasting to 2 winearies (Wolf Blass and Kaesler), had real Hofbraeu Beer and Weisswurst and Schwarzbrot for dinner... hmmmm.. what a pleasure!! the wineries are really nice but quite big.... but still.. the Barrossa Valley is not to be compared with the beautiful Wachau in Austria!! Landscape points definitely to Austria!!! Diez Points!! but you can see yourself on the foto!! I went with Eve, a girl from Belgium who was on the tour from Melbourne amd we enjoyed even the scenic bus drive (which according to our bus driver Dennis means nothing else but a narrow, winding and old road).. I can't believe that all aussie bus drivers are that funny.. seriously.. I have not been sitting on 1 single bus in this country without laughing.. they are hilarious!!!

Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island was great!! Besides the ferry ride back to Australia mainland.. that was the worst ferry ride ever... everyone was throwing up beside me... fortunately I had had no dinner before going on the ferry.. but I must honestly say.. it would have been in one of the sick-bags if I had eaten.. very bad!!! of course.. bad news go always first.. but now to the good news.. kangaroo island is wonderful!! I wished I had more time and could go on an adventure tour with camping and sand boarding and all that stuff.. but I don't ... so I could only go on a 1 day highlights tour which was ok ... but definitely to sophisticated for me.. I was travelling in a luxurious bus (or at least that's what the tour company said).. but still it was fun!! the rain could only get us once (I was soaking after that) .. the rest of the day I was sitting on the bus and hurrying from one highlight to the next one!! all in all it was great.. great stone formations and loads of wildlife.. I saw again kangaroos, koalas and.. very important we saw seals and pinguins.. god were they cute... ohohoh... and I saw a rainbow!!! isn't it beautiful..

Melbourne to Adelaide

Yes, yes.. ladies and gentlement, I'm in Adelaide (city of freaks as it was called for a long time) at the moment. I made a 3 day tour from Melbourne to Adelaide (about 1.000 km) and saw sooo many beautiful things.. it's incredible!! just wanted to let everybody know that I'm save and healthy ... in Adelaide!! I will upload fotos tomorrow and tell you all the details about my trip!! Just the highlights: I saw wild kangaroos (brown and white!!), emus, wallabies and koalas!! I also saw sheep, cows, goats, pigs and dogs .. isn't that lovely!! I climbed a mountain which is about 400 meters high.. woho... how scary!! I made a helicopter flight over the 12 apostels on the Great Ocean Road!! and much more.. I'm starving and I'm going out with my tour-mates now.. so... let me tell the stories tomorrow!!!

I looooove Melbourne

Melbourne is just incredible!!! I definitely like it better than Sydney (lo siento Ana Morena)!! It's so lively and beautiful!!! The architecture is just amazing.. so many cool and funky but also old and nice buildings.. I love the mixture... and people are great!!! I'm staying with Gudi (Stefan and Sigi's friend from Gmunden) and Peter and they are great!! They live in the cutest house in Prahran which is a really nice quarter of Melbourne too!! They took me for dinner yesterday to St. Kilda and it was sooo nice!! Today I had a walk around Brunswick Street in Fitzroy and I honestly had to drag myself out of every store so that I did not buy to much.. grrr.. that's the bad part about being a backpacker.. to little money and to little space in the backpack... grr... I didn't bring the cable to connect my camera today.. but I will upload all the pics asap!! I'm sure that most of you guys would love Melbourne too!! You have to check out this city!! That's the first official Klaudz Recommendation!!

Herzliches Willkommen an meine Familie

Liebe Familie Zehetner!! Also dann, herzlich willkommen auf meiner Homepage! Und Woif .. halt die Mama und den Papa schoen auf dem Laufenden, ja?!?!

I met Pip & Glen

It was a great day today!! I met Pip and Glen who are friend's of Stefan in Canberra! It was just lovely!! We had a great day out in the bush land of ACT because they took me out to a winery and Cottage Restaurant. The food was great and the Sauvignon Blanc too!! ;) I actually didn't think that Aussis knew how to make white wine but hey... it was great! The place was called Poachers Pantry and is about 1 hour outside of town. Glen brought his nephew Mati from Brisbane, he is 14 and reminded me so much on Stefan's brother Clemens!! It's unbelievable.. and I was not the only one who thought that!! Glen said the same thing before me! I think the 2 should really meet one day!! Especially since Mati is learning German (and he's reeeally good at it already). Coming back to our fabulous lunch, we had all sort of smoked meat and fish and I got to try Emu for the first time.. since it was smoked... I can't really say a lot... still it was very good!! Yummy.. and after that we had niiice desserts.. white chocolate tart for me please!! It was a great day and Pip and Glen are just fantastic.. we had some good laughs today!! oh.. oh... and I saw my first kangaroos out in nature!!

Lake Burley Griffin - Round trip

I spent my first day in Canberra by renting a bike and doing a lap around lake Burley Griffin! it was a beautiful autumn day and the landscape reminded me on one side on my autumn in sweden and on the other side the hills around the city looked like really dry hills in Spain in summer.. so it was a bit wired.. but very beautiful!! but you can decide yourself having a look at the pictures... I sat on the bike from 10.30 to 4 o'clock in the afternoon with just some short breaks in between and was pretty exhausted when I came back to the hostel.. by the way.. the City Accomodation YHA in Canberra is really deluxe!! I love it!! In the evening I went out with a german girl called Sabina who I'm sharing the room with! She has been to NZ already and can therefore tell me a lot about it!! that's always helpful!!!

Trip to Canberra

Liebes Tagebuch! ;) hello everyone.. I arrived in Canberra under very good conditions.. the bus ride was quick and finally ... there are highways in Australia.. I did not believe in it anymore ... after thousands of kms without being on one!! the sunsat between Sydney and Canberra was beautiful!! Just wanted to give you a short impression!! But folks.. good news for everyone who was jealous of me because of the good weather.. autumn has arrived and in Canberra it has about 10 degrees at the moment... brrrr... lets see whats the weather like tomorrow.. I want to rent a bike and cruise around the most organized city in the world... jehea!! and there is something more I have to communicate to you people.. I guess no one believes me that I haven't seen a kanguroo or a koala in wildlife yet.. but.. hey.. it is the truth... I'm crossing half of the continent and haven't seen a single kangaroo (except all the dead ones on the roads .. not exactly what I want to see)!! that's why I have to make Dee promise to me that I will see some in Perth... Dee.. could you do me a favour and leave a comment saying that I will see 1 kangaroo before leaving australia... pleeease.. that would help a lot...

New Se Mobeila Tower Sydney???

As the Senior Vice President for Training and Development of the Se Mobeila Company I also decided it is time to look for new offices in Sydney... and lucky me.. I found new office space in Sydney's Australia Square!! Dear CEO Gertschi Girking and Mr. President Wolfgang Fercher, I would highly recommend to carry out some studies on a change of the location here in Sydney!!
